Please check your junk mail regularly, and as that may not be enough, please phone 905 885 4298 too, if, after sending us an email, there has been ANY delay in hearing back from us.

About the Organization

Since the founding of the Dry Stone Wall Association of Canada in 2000, there has been a great deal of interest and feedback. Our membership reflects a large cross section of very enthusiastic people here in Canada who are discovering or perhaps rekindling their interest in dry stone walling. We have had numerous seminars, events and demonstrations teaching everything from historic wall repair to creating new dry stone features.

Our emphasis as a D.S.W. Association these past 6 years has been onnetworking and making contacts across Canada to be better equipped tohandle the growing interest in dry stone walling here and to offerdemonstrations, instruction and special events where people can seeand learn more about what can be done in the area of ‘Dryscaping’,using relatively inexpensive random natural stone in a structuralapplication, without cement or any man made products. Permanentmembership, various printed materials and inclusion in our DSWACemail newsletter are free to those who have taken any dry stone wallDSWAC workshops. Once a year, accredited testing is arranged to bedone in Canada by the DSWAC through the DSWA of UK which sets andposts on their web site the standards for all certificationrecognized by the DSWA of Canada. See www.dswa.org.uk
In addition to our regular events, it is possible for private groupsand corporations to make arrangements with the Dry Stone WallAssociation of Canada to hold ‘tailored’ dry stone wall workshopswithin their organization as part of a special event or as a team-building initiative.
The DSWAC also gives a lecture/slide presentation on ‘Dryscaping’ togarden clubs for a small fee.
As well as providing these services, specially qualified members ofthe DSWAC can be contacted through the association to both design andbuild free standing walls for private commissions. Permanentstructures such as dry stone walls , garden features , follies andsmall bridges built in the dry laid method are just some of thepossibilities open to those interested in having something specialbuilt on their property.
