This year at the Highlands of Durham Games in Uxbridge, Ontario, members of the DSWAC and enthusiastic volunteers helped in the constructing of a large dry stone Celtic cross. The structure took 7 tons of stone and was finished in the rain on the 2nd day of the event.

We had lots of fun with the Celtic cross idea that Dan Holowbow came up with. The top half of the arch was more tricky than we expected because it ended up joining below the top of the cross. This meant the large top stone of the cross was not actually bearing much weight at all.
