Winter 2007 Class Three Pictures
[ Return to
Home Page ]
Students came from as far away as Ottawa and Vancouver Island to take
this third workshop Jan 20-12, 2007 in the series of individual
indoor weekend courses taught by The Dry Stone Wall Association of
Canada this winter at Bethany Ontario.
A small cloister (writing area, herb garden or place to have tea
perhaps?) was built on the second day, after the students learned the
basics on 20 tons of flatter random limestone the day before. A
wonderful 'happy hour' and lasagna supper was provided for the class
on the Saturday evening by a former DSWAC student, Debra Northey and
her husband Dave, who live nearby. Thanks guys. Debra visited the
site later to see the newly completed walls and said that they almost
made her cry. We are hoping she meant they were so beautiful.
