2008 Canton Beginners Seminar February 23-24

Here is the new wall and arch built by students at the Feb 23-24 Dry Stone Wall Association of Canada Indoor Workshop held in Canton Ontario.
Several students from the US couldn't make it because of freezing rain on the east coast, but three enthusiasts came from from closer to home and still one other flew in from Bakersfield California. The structure was built using local random limestone which is relatively inexpensive. The niche feature was designed by the students to hold a small plant or sculpture. Students also learned to split granite boulders with the feather-and -wedge method.
Lunches were described as 'spectacular' by everyone who partook of this our last workshop for the season.
